So. We had some family fun yesterday to celebrate Independence Day.
The first thing you should know is that we always celebrate at Chris's house, which is now in Centennial but is on the border of Aurora. Aurora doesn't allow many firecrackers at all, and Colorado only allows "safe and sane" ones (i.e. the ones that don't leave the ground.)
The next thing you should know is that Cheyenne is only a two-hour drive away, and Wyoming has very few fireworks restrictions. So it's very easy for Chris and Mark to drive there and buy good stuff and return. Eheh.
Now because of the aforementioned fireworks restrictions, and the fact that the police are out in full force looking for violators, we had it in the backyard this year. They were surprisingly uneventful this year (last year, my sister thought she was lighting one of the projectile ones right-side up and in fact it was sideways. Damn near set every car and house in the area on fire...). We'll be having it in the backyard from now on. From there you can see all the neighbors' 'works. (And if the ones two houses down stop abruptly, we know to get in the house and turn all the lights out...)
Even George was nice last night. Maybe it's because her son Ethan wasn't there; she can't say a nice thing about him. Quite sad, really... Of course it could also be because she only had a couple of beers this time.

By the way, did you see my post on July 2nd?
