Jul. 26th, 2005 05:33 pmThere's a mosque about a quarter mile from my house. It's no big deal that it's there, really, except that it means traffic's screwed up on Fridays. There were some (rather poorly) organized protests after the 9/11/01 attacks, and several bomb threats (none of which led to anything beyond increased security.)
But this? It just pisses me off that they have to do this.
They've had to put up signs on the wall around it saying things like "Muslims are peacemakers" and "We are not the terrorists."
I'm just sickened that this is an environment in which they need to do that.
There have also been complaints about the prayer calling (can't remember the term for it right now...). Which is ridiculous, considering that it's barely audible. I can't hear it from here. The church bells in Danville are much louder (and ring more often, and there are more of them). And yet people are complaining about it.
Bastards.
At least Dad's making fries tonight. I love his french fries.
Oh, no. French. I must be a terrorist.

Date: 2005-07-26 11:57 pm (UTC)That's bullshit that they should have to do that. The freak terrorists are not mainstream Muslims, and muslims as a whole are peaceful. Ugh.

Yeah, I've read the Qu'ran several times, and I must say the Surih of Killing Everybody Else managed to elude me each time. Guess I wasn't paying attention. :P
