hopefulnebulaI wasn't even planning to update tonight, but circumstances practically begged for me to write.
First: It finally happened. I knew it was coming. I saw an "autism awareness" bumper ribbon magnet thingy (technical, eh?) on a car in Louisville today. And yes, it had those infuriating brightly-colored puzzle pieces. *waves her "I am not a puzzle, I am a person" flag*
Second: I am waay too much of a geek for my own good. Dre, Taylor, anyone else that has any sort of RPG experience, you're going to love this.
I've written about Rosie here before. She's the crazy Jack Russell who is very much an outgoing movie star with a high tolerance for crack stuck inside a tiny dog's body. She also has this tendency to ruin toys (like she did today, but that's not the story). So, I was opening up boxes just now, just for the sake of making things easier tomorrow, and Ginny (my rather large floppy stuffed giraffe) was on top of one of them. Of course I couldn't resist taking her out to sleep on tonight. Pat saw this and said something about keeping her away from Little Miss Razorteeth. My reply:
"Don't worry, I plan on keeping her in the bedroom until I go to bed. I fully intend to keep her away from the Iron Jaws. [pause in which I take a few steps away, think of something, stop and turn around] Of Toyslaying. [similar pause] Max damage! +10% damage vs. stuffed toys! [starts giggling like mad as Mom and Pat look at me like I've sprouted another head]"
Also, having remapped my laptop's dash key to avoid having to pay $75 to replace it has its disadvantages. Namely, I keep pressing the Windows key on this keyboard and most other PC keyboards.
