I fucking hate this.

Today started with me spilling hot chocolate all down my front. It didn't improve. At least I showed up to DCA on time. Waaaaay on time, as sometime between the time I checked out of the hotel and the time I got to the airport, my flight got cancelled (mechanical trouble). They'd already rebooked me for a set of flights about three hours later. No big deal, I thought... I can do that. So I called up Kerri (thanks for being so understanding, by the way) and made sure she knew what was up, and hung around in the world's second ugliest airport for a couple hours. The flight to Charlotte went without incident (except for some turbulence).

My connection from CLT to LEX was only supposed to be a couple of hours long. So I grabbed a quick lunch and went to the gate, and waited. And waited. Flight got delayed several times (aircraft availability, then weather) and eventually cancelled. At this point, I called Kerri and told her not to wait up. Aaaand they automatically rebooked me for the last flight out, departing at 9:40.

And 10:00.

...make that 10:25.

No sooner was I able to board the plane than they cancelled that flight. It then took me for fuckin' ever to get rebooked (earliest I could get was 11:30 tomorrow morning) and get a hotel room.

Three times in one day. Three times.

I'd joked with the DCA ticketing guy about how I had only seen CLT as a bunch of blurry colors because I'd never had time between connections. This is not what I meant.

I have had ENOUGH. I'm here at last, minus an $80 cab fare, and my computer charger is in Charlotte. But the hotel people can't find it even though I'm certain it's there. I think I'm going to go bang my head against a wall until I pass out now.

Well. Still no word from the hotel; I'm betting the charger's a lost cause. I even called the airport on the (very) slim chance it fell out at security. And Sony's been no help so far; I'm probably going to have to buy a new one (aaaaand that's another $100, gone...).

So, that means:
-no Firefox
-no DVDs
-not a lot of writing
-no IM
-no scrollwheel
-no PhotoFiltre/graphics work
-no speakers
-no bookmarks

until further notice.

...at least all the lab comps have a working dash key on their computers...
