Jul. 31st, 2004 09:51 amYou know you've had PMS something bad when you actually *want* cramps.
Anyway, got to Olivia-sit yesterday. She's such a sweetie even when she isn't feeling well. We got into a raspberry-blowing contest. I have no idea how she doesn't run out of breath but she didn't. (Zog suggested that she has a hollow leg or something.) Pete says she climbed up seven steps yesterday night after we left--so now they have to put baby gates at the bottom of the stairs as well as the top.
And now I'm off to write those short pieces in
similitude like I'd promised...

Date: 2004-07-31 05:24 pm (UTC)I had one eejit today trying to return a Thunderbirds model kit, on the grounds that it was not as depicted on the box. As the box top is rather nice painted artwork of Thunderbird 2 landing (smoke, flames and all) surrounded by a ton of little vehicles, I would've thought it would be pretty obvious that the contents of the box would match the wording ("Thunderbird 2, Recovery Vehicle and Jet Mole") and not the art. He also complained that it was not suitable for his 2 year old son. Talk about stating the obvious, these are 20 year old Japanese kits for the adult modeller and not kids' toys!
I swear, I need a new job. Or a store of my own in a town where the average IQ is higher than 30.
As for baby gates - why use two at different ends when you can just put one in the middle? (Unless you need to keep her off the stairs completely, which is a different kettle of fish entirely, but I know nothing about babies.)

Date: 2004-08-06 04:31 am (UTC)Yeah, it's a good idea to keep babies completely off stairs, just as a safety measure. Putting gates at the top is more important than putting them at the bottom, though.
