Just had a nice chat with the RA. She's spending the rest of the day out of town but it was good to talk with her about that.

After I updated last night, I left to use the bathroom and saw that the Jessicas had left a note on their door. It said "S and J [Shannon and yet another Jessica, who lives upstairs]--we're snoozin' but feel free to come in. We don't have trouble getting back to sleep like some other people." I thought they were above that. I thought I was above being angry about that kind of thing. So I erased that and left a note of my own that said that one or two people and one bag of popcorn would be one thing, and that I'd have been a lot more receptive if there hadn't been a kitchen in the basement, or even if they'd at least said something along the lines of "OK, let's be quiet. Lizzy's sleeping." Instead, I get "it's my room too." I didn't wake Shannon up when my parents arrived at 8 yesterday morning for breakfast. If I had, and I'd said that, I'd be in trouble. At least the RA gives a damn. She's had several complaints about noise and visitation and stuff too, so I'll wait and see how it goes.

By the way, I did get back to sleep yesterday. At around 5 AM, so I slept until about 1:30. So now I have a French presentation to do and a lot of laundry. I actually kinda like doing laundry... it's all nice and warm and comfy.

I agree with you. I love laundry days! Nothing like a fresh warm sweater when you're down... that and I do most of my best thinking when I'm sitting in the campus laundry room (though now I'm at home, I can sprawl in an armchair while my laundry does itself, and catch up on some reading).

Glad your RA was sympathetic. Mine never was... she was a final-year student with the "They're 18, you're at university and I'm too busy to deal with your shit" attitude. Seems sad that manners and morals go out the window for the majority... but then, the minority are always nicer people.
*hug*
Wish I could help you with your French presentation, but the best I could offer would be a squeezy bottle of yellow mustard and a kiss with tongues...
Thinking of you. Let's talk later!
