I'm home safely. Blue Grass Airport in Lexington reminds me a lot of Stapleton (the Denver airport up until 1993 or so). Plane from LEX to CRT was a Dash 3-800: the truest kind of puddlejumper. As in, stairs to the runway, walk to the plane, take stairs onto the plane.   I had to sit right next to the propeller, so I had to spend ninety minutes listening to a very loud VRRERRMVRRERRMVRRERRM sound.  Not to mention the constant vibration... Only the second time ever I've even been close to getting airsick.  Bleh.  We ended up sitting on the runway in Charlotte for a half hour after we landed and the guy behind me did not stop screaming at the flight attendant because he had a connecting flight, and he's speshul.  I was about this close to standing up and telling him to shut up because we all had connecting flights or places to be, and yelling at someone who has no power to change it isn't going to do anything.

Speaking of connecting flights, I almost missed the one to Denver because of the aforementioned delay.  I had time to do the following in the airport:
    -Use the bathroom
    -Look at the departures board
-Run like hell to two concourses away
-Board the plane just in time

But I got there.  And now I'm here, and very glad to be home (aka the Land of 2-Ply Toilet Paper).  Especially since Grandma hasn't been doing too well lately.

Athena's gotten a bit pudgy since I last saw her.  She's a sweetie.  And Dad's been civil toward her... amazing.

Sounds like about as much fun as having root canal work done - but the important thing is, you're home for the holidays. Until next week, anyhow.
*hug*
Think you could see your way clear to FedExing me a pecan pie?

Don'tcha just love the jackasses who think that they are better than anyone else?

She should have looked at him and told him that the longer he stood there and yelled at her, the later he was going to be.

The important thing is that you made it. I have my share of connection mishaps as well. I bet that you just LOVED (rolleyes) being next to the prop. I try not to pay attention to the so-called 'speshul' people on planes. It's just easier that way. I hope that your grandma gets better. Oh, say hello to Athena for me. ;)
