People really turn their computers off during storms still? My dad's an electrician, always has been. Get yourself a surge protector, a UPS or a decent switchboard circuit and you should be fine. During electrical storms, the whole house we lived in was still 100% alive with power without fear of falling over. We even got perfect TV reception when everyone elses' died (in the days before cable in those areas). Clairey recommends locating, aquiring and putting to work one brawny apprentice for your electrical and visual pleasure.
