hopefulnebulaWell, Mom and I eventually figured out the problem with my comp. You see, it has a little switch on the front that says "Wireless LAN on/off." Guess what I had it set to? (Way back when, Terran had a "sheepish" smilie. I think I need that now.)
Went to the dermatologist's this morning for a mole check; the dermo wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else abnormal. There isn't that she can tell. Then we picked Laura up from school (she had exams today and does until Wednesday but she doesn't go back to school between then and January 11th or such) all the way across town. Then we went to a restaurant across town--back near the doctor's--and then home. Dad and I set up the tree and now I've just gotten back from dinner. I'm reluctant to run too much online at once because I think that's what caused the problems I had over Thanksgiving.
All of the Christmas gifts I bought are here. Now to wrap them... I'm thinking that later tonight I'll do that. Let me tell you, Laura's the only one in this family who's even remotely easy to buy for.
