Reload page in style: site light

I'm learning Dvorak again. For real this time. So if you catch me typing really slowly in the next few weeks, that's why. (I remember more than I thought, which is good, but the punctuation is a bitch.)

Ha! My buddy Eric is a huge fan of Dvorak and keeps trying to convince me to switch over. I can go over 115gwpm in the standard layout, though, so I really don't want to. xD

I'm learning it because I have a family history of RSIs and arthritis, and I want to avoid that if I can.

hmm i think a drawback for me is that sometimes you'll have to use computers other than your own, and it'll be a real pain to have to "re-learn". i slow down a lot just by switching to different mobile phones (where the t9 dictionary functions, symbols etc are placed separately). eeps.

anyway, good luck! do you have any typing tools to help you slip into it more easily?

I haven't had any trouble switching back and forth yet. There's just the initial moment of "oh, different keyboard" and then I'm fine.

Typing tools are like those special pencil grips or insta-spellcheck on web browsers or word processors: fine for most other people, but I can't work with them. It's why it took me two years to learn QWERTY. (Well, that and the fact that the typing "teacher" at my school taught primarily PE, and shouldn't have been allowed to teach either subject.) It sticks better for me when I write useful things and am allowed to correct my own mistakes.

hmm my question was whether there are any programs out there that help you practice typing. but what's the writing useful things about?
