The stands at baseball games are nearly always nowhere near full to capacity, right?

And hockey arenas are (well, were *sulks*) nearly always full (unless it was a team like the Predators; they don't count).

Baseball players are still getting waaay overpaid and most of the teams are still solvent, right?

And the NHL's in a lockout right now because the players and owners can't come to an agreement about what to do with what little (compared to baseball, anyway) money they have.

Baseball is boring.

Hockey is cool.

Can someone tell me:  what gives?

Because the baseball players union is Teh Ebil and continually jacks up the ticket prices. I'd imagine they're rapidly approaching the point of diminishing gains.
